Car rental is available at the airport or in various locations throughout Rome, such as Termini and Tiburtina. While convenient, be aware of restrictions like ZTL (Limited Traffic Zones).
ZTL- the center of Rome has restricted car access in certain areas, known as ZTL (Zona a Traffico Limitato). You will see a red circle sign indicating a ZTL area, along with an electronic sign that reads “Varco Attivo”, meaning entry is restricted. If the sign says “Varco Non Attivo”, then you are allowed to enter.
The Piazza Bologna is not in the ZTL area and the Ghetto is on the border, you could park outside the Ghetto in the streets where there is blue line (need to pay in the machines, elsewhere, the closest payed parking is at Via delle Zocolette 31.
Parking on the street is permissible on the white lines without payment and on the blue lines by payment, the yellow lines are reserved.
It is highly risky to leave anything in the car, as break-ins and theft are common. Never leave luggage, valuables, or important items such as Tefillin or passports in the vehicle.
Public transportation is available via buses, trams, subways, and trains.
If you want to take a taxi, we recommend using the It-Taxi or Free Now app. Uber is usually at least twice as expensive as a taxi. You could also contact the Jewish drivers.

Luggage Storage
If you have a stopover and want to visit the city, the best place to leave your luggage is at the storage facility at FCO Airport. To find it, turn right when you exit the arrivals area in Terminal 3; it’s located at the end of the corridor.
There are also many luggage storage options in the city in the train stations etc.
In the Jewish Ghetto, a Jewish tour company offers storage services. Customers arriving through Chabad receive a 20% discount. Contact Italy VIP Tours at +393514782849.
If you prefer to bring your suitcases to Chabad, please contact us in advance to confirm if it’s possible.

Hi, I am coming with 2 friends to rome this summer. We are checking out of our Airbnb on Friday morning June 13th but are not leaving for Florence until 2pm. Would we be able to leave our bags at Chabad for some time while we explore Rome?
Thank you!
Depending where your place is, a luggage storage might be easier to reach, if you want to bring them to us, please contact us in private.
It’s better if you leave them at the many luggage storage available.
